Our story

Creating a Healthier Lamu

Founded in 2008 in response to the growing healthcare needs of Lamu’s underserved communities, LCPH has provided free, year-round healthcare services since 2011. We are dedicated to ensuring every person in Lamu has access to essential medical care, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families throughout our community.

“Since founding Lamu Center for Preventative Health in 2008, we have worked to close critical healthcare gaps in Lamu County by providing free medical services to underserved communities. The need continues to grow, and we now average more than 45 patient visits each day. This July, our volunteer eye clinic will provide free eye care to approximately 500 patients, and we look forward to launching our new dental program as our equipment arrives in Mombasa.”
